Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how JPS NORTHWEST VENTURES LLC(“Company,” “we,” “our,” “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the Apron Strings mobile application (“App”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, authentication credentials, and basic profile data. This information is stored securely in Supabase and is used solely to operate the App and provide its features.

1.2 User Content (Recipes, Photos, Videos)

You may upload recipes, notes, images, and videos. You retain ownershipof all content you upload.

• Recipe photos or images you upload are stored in your private account.
• Videos attached to recipes are stored in Cloudflare R2 and streamed using Cloudflare Stream.
• Content is not visible to others unless you explicitly share it with members of your Family Space.

1.3 AIQ Cooking Assistance Videos

When you record a short video for AI assistance:

• The video is temporarily stored in Cloudflare R2.
• It is sent to Google Gemini for analysis.
• It is deleted immediately after processing.
• We request deletion from Gemini as well.

These videos are never used for AI training.

1.4 OCR Images

Images submitted for OCR (such as handwritten recipe cards) are temporarily stored, processed by AI, and then deleted. They do not remain in your account unless you explicitly choose to save them.

1.5 Family Space Information

If you use Family Spaces, we store information related to your membership and the content you choose to share. Family Space content is visible only to invited members.

1.6 Device & Technical Data

We collect anonymized or pseudonymous technical information to improve reliability and performance, including:

• Device model and operating system version
• IP address (security and rate limiting)
• Error and crash logs via Sentry
• Website analytics via Google Analytics

This information is not sold or shared for advertising purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

• Operate and improve the App
• Support recipe storage, OCR, and AI-based features
• Enable Family Space sharing
• Enforce subscription quotas and detect abuse
• Maintain security, prevent fraud, and ensure system integrity
• Diagnose crashes and technical issues

3. How Your Information Is Stored

3.1 Permanent Storage

• Recipes and notes
• Recipe images
• Recipe videos
• Account information

3.2 Temporary Storage

• AIQ videos
• OCR images
• Transient analytics and logs

4. How Your Information Is Shared

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the App:

• Supabase (authentication, storage, database)
• Cloudflare R2 & Stream (image and video hosting)
• Google Gemini (AI processing)
• OpenAI (AI-based features)
• Stripe / RevenueCat (subscription billing)
• Sentry (error and crash monitoring)
• Google Analytics (website analytics)

These processors act on our behalf and do not have permission to use your data for advertising or AI model training.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. Users aged 13–17 may use the App only with parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

6. Data Security

We use encryption, access controls, Row-Level Security (RLS), and modern cloud infrastructure to protect your data. However, no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee complete protection.

7. Your Privacy Rights

You may request:

• Access to your data
• Correction of inaccurate information
• Deletion of your account and associated content

Some information may be retained for fraud prevention, security, or legal compliance purposes.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updated versions will be posted within the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
